Dear Professors Sedelow:
\J In regard to your letter of September 22, 1973, I will have to decline
your invitation to contribute to \F1Computer Uses for Language Research\F2 which
you will be editing for Professor Sebeok's series. I do not have the time available
now for such an undertaking, and the area is not really close to my current interests
and projects.\.
\J Dr. Yorick Wilks, who is a member of the Artificial Intelligence group here
at Stanford, is doing research in this area. I have talked with him and he is willing
to submit an article. I suggest that you write to him specifying the scope of your
volume and the area/areas in which you would like him to participate.\.
Sincerely yours,
John McCarthy
